LiftMates Terms of Service

Welcome to LiftMates. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LiftMates application and related services (collectively the "Service"). By using LiftMates you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility / 年齢制限・本人確認

• You must be 18 years of age or older to use LiftMates, because the service includes user-generated content and social messaging.
• You must confirm your date of birth at sign-up, which we use to verify you are 18 or older. Accounts found to belong to a person under 18 are terminated.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to evade enforcement is prohibited.
• If you are using LiftMates on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. Your Account

• You are responsible for all activity on your account.
• You must provide accurate information including your date of birth.
• You may not impersonate others, create fake accounts, or operate multiple accounts to evade enforcement.
• You may not provide false date-of-birth or identity information to bypass age verification.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use LiftMates to:

• Post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or violates someone else's rights
• Solicit minors or post content harmful to minors
• Promote violence, self-harm, or eating disorders
• Spam, scam, or fraudulently solicit others
• Distribute malware or attempt to compromise the Service's security
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data without our written permission
• Bypass safety, moderation, or rate-limit systems

We have zero tolerance for illegal content, child exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, or threats of violence. Such accounts are removed and reported to authorities.

4. User-Generated Content

• You retain ownership of content you post on LiftMates.
• You grant LiftMates a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, and operate technical processing of your content as needed to run the Service.
• You can delete your content at any time. After deletion, content is purged from active systems within 30 days.

5. Moderation

• We use both automated systems and human review to enforce these Terms.
• Reports are reviewed within 24 hours for time-sensitive issues (harassment, illegal content) and within 72 hours otherwise.
• We may remove content or accounts at our sole discretion. We aim to be fair and transparent, but moderation decisions are final.

6. Block / Report

• You can block any user — they cannot interact with you and their content is hidden from you.
• You can report any content for review. Reports are anonymous to the reporter.
• LiftMates cooperates with law enforcement when legally required.

7. Trainer Marketplace

• LiftMates is a discovery and connection layer. Bookings, payments, and the actual training service occur between you and the trainer directly, often via external links.
• LiftMates is not a party to any agreement between you and a trainer.
• LiftMates does not endorse, verify identity, or guarantee the quality of any trainer.
• Disputes about service, payment, or refunds must be resolved directly with the trainer.

8. Subscription / Pro Plan

• The free tier includes most LiftMates functionality.
• Pro subscription unlocks: advanced match filters, private record archive, dossier export, unlimited translation.
• Subscriptions are billed via the Apple App Store under Apple's IAP terms.
• Auto-renewal can be turned off in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.

9. Privacy

Use of LiftMates is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please read it.

10. Disclaimers

• LiftMates is provided as-is without warranties of any kind.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or specific results from training (LiftMates is not a medical or health service).
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

11. Termination

• You may stop using LiftMates and delete your account at any time.
• We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms.
• Termination does not affect provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., content license you granted before termination, indemnity, liability limits).

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Tokyo, Japan, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home jurisdiction.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in-app. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
